A downloadable game

ABOUT

A jjimjilbang  is a Korean-style sauna/public bath/spa. Since the Incident two years ago, the jjimjilbang at the edge of town has sat abandoned. Hana hears rumours that the place is haunted, and as a budding paranormal investigator, she has to check it out.

But she didn't expect to run into her own ghost.

An RPGMaker demo made for Neophyte Studio's Narrative Game Jam #5. 15-30 minutes long; the first slice of a larger dish.

In this stage of development, Jjimjilbang is more of an RPG with horror theming than a proper horror game. It will have some heavier themes in the future, but for now, it's just retro RPG fun.

This was a fun demo! I liked the characters, I liked their abilities, and the writing was charming and the music set the mood well. There were a few small moments such as with the shopkeeper that I really enjoyed. It’s been a while since I’ve played a retro rpg so it was nostalgic on that front.

I might suggest closing off going to the next area at the beginning until you manage to pick up your party member. I totally skipped that part and there were some confusing moments! Overall a fun experience though and I look forward to the rest.

Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed the game!

There's going to be an updated demo in a couple weeks with some of the Game Jam Jank removed, so keep an eye out for that!

Look, I really liked the art and the story is alright but there are some things you have to fix, the random encounters are tedious, the bosses are overpowered, the enemies are really easy to beat, there is no health bar for the enemies and the game just isn´t a lot of fun. Despite all this I think if you tweak some stuff around you could have a great game so keep developing and I will play it once it´s finish. I am sure it wil be great

Yknow what, that's absolutely fair criticism. Thank you for giving it.

We were definitely trying for that old-school RPG feel-- but we may have overdone it somewhat.

Maybe, but I still think you have a really solid foundation and It show your love for old school rpgs.
